millie you are confusing me now!!
Can you explain???
Lol, sorry smaidment. Most people will normally place a back bet at the bookie and then lay it off at befair for a small loss on the qualifier. However, if you have a couple of books on the go you can place a bet on each outcome, one at each bookie. Let me give you an example...
Team A @ bookie 1.91 Team B @ Betfair to Lay 2.0 For a £25 stake you would lay £24.49 and make a loss of £1.74
However, if you backed the other outcome at another bookie (away win or draw) by betting on either Team B AH +.5 or a double chance (draw or Away win) with odds of say 2.1 with a stake of £22.73 then you have covered all possible outcomes, and end up with a zero loss. If you look hard enough you wil find arbs where regardless of the result you will make a profit. Books that are heavily into Asian Handicaps are great for this and if yo uare doing a SUB then you can get thru more than one WR at a time.
Hope that helps

188BET

Hi everyone, Have I got this right with 188BET (and other similar stake-returned freebet offers) ? The qualifying bet is just a punt, you don't lay it with Betfair. If the bet wins, fine; you don't mind that you're not going to get the free bet. If it loses it doesn't matter either because you get the free bet with stake returned. Therefore it would be silly to go for a fairly low odds bet at the qualifying stage. Am I right ?
No, you want to make a profit regardless of whether your first bet wins or not. So the first bet should be matched at fairly high odds. Treat the first bet as an SNR - if it wins then great you have made a profit. If it loses, then you get the refund so what you won in the exchange in the first bet is profit. Take an example, back @6.0, lay at 6.6. You would lay £19.08. If the bet wins you have a profit of £18.13. If it loses then you have lost £18.13 in the exchange but get the £25 refunded at 188. I would avoid them. The SUB is on multiples. I have seen reports of them taking over 3 months to payout, they have a poor reputation, tread very carefully.

Yes, if your first bet loses, then they credit you with £25 which you can just withdraw, hence you've made the profit on the first bet.

Yeah, I lost £73 today cos I couldnt lay when BF went down As for ID, quite a few bookmakers require this - its nothing unusual, I just uploaded my Driving Licence for Betclic.

Exchanges
|
Are there any plans to add new exchanges? I've started using bettor.com as the commission is much better than betfair, would be great if you could get them added. Note that their commission is charged on winning bets though, not winning markets. E.g. If you back and lay in the same event and have a profit of say £5 - on BF you would pay 5% on £5. However on bettor, if the winning bet won say £50 you would pay 1.5% on £50 - not a problem if you are nonly using them for matched betting and not trading. One thing to note though is they doen accept Moneybookers, you will need a Neteller account.

William Hill automatcher is broke? :(

I thought it was just that WH were quick to cut their prices, but I just looked at about a dozen and all of them are different to the AutoMatcher, so maybe you have a point. lets hope Admin can take a closer look

I find that there is less liquidity in Betdaq plus the prices dont seem to be as good. I've started using Smarkets - good depth to the markets but dont leave horses too close to the off to lay cos it gets a bit gappy. If you become a premium member at TGT you get 1% commission so that more than makes up for the fees they charge on deposits and withdrawals.

Fantastic! Brilliant Stuff. May I point out a couple of issues I have found..... 1. The righthand side of the screen where the bets are listed seems to be chopped off so you cannot see the entire line. 2. When clicking 'Change Appeareance' at the bottom, an extra bet line appears over the top of it 3. I was looking at horses, then changed to 'Bore Draw Refund' and after selecting a bet it tells you what score to back/lay but then has another section referring to acceptable loss if horse I was just looking at wins the race!!!!! 4. On horses, why is the 'Event Name' 1 hour later than the 'Event Start Time' ?
No doubt there are going to be lots of teething probs, but there's an initial list for starters edited by millie on 19/06/2011

Bookmakers that use euros
|
When doing books in Euros, I always underlay, so that if it wins at the bookie I have a significant profit which will allow for any workthrough or erosion when I withdraw. I will always lay to make a small profit, but nowhere near as much should the bet win. Whatever yu feel comforatble with but never match bet for an equal outcome regardless when working with euro bookies - unless that is you deposit/withdraw to a euro bank a/c or a moneybookers a/c funded in euros.
Hope that helps.
